John Janke is the Pastor of Preaching and Vision at Northbrook and has served in this position since 2014. Our elders also offer spiritual leadership in the realm of teaching, preaching, and prayer. John Janke
Pastor of Preaching and Vision
Pastor John has served over 20 years in pastoral ministry and 16 years in college ministry. He has been happily married to his best friend, Terri, for over 40 years. They have five children, three of which are adopted. John's chief desire as a pastor is for individuals to grow in their love for and obedience to Jesus, as they grow in their knowledge and personal application of the Bible. In his spare time, John enjoys cracking open some theology, history, or fictional who-done-it book; growing roses; and sipping good coffee.
Ray Cross
Elder
Ray has been a member of Northbrook since 1993 and an elder since 2022. He has worked as an Electrical Engineer specializing in Radio/Electronic communications since 1986. After being a contented single until middle age, he married the love of his life, Kim, in 2010. Ray's desire for pastoral ministry is that people will come to know the whole of the Bible better: for those that don't yet believe that they would be made "... wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" and for believers to recognize the Bible as "... breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:14-16). Ray enjoys electronic and radio hobbies and reading science, technical, and Bible-related books, magazines, and websites.
